- So you want to
listen to Song That programs, only to find you couldn't go through the
whole audio without interruption. Maybe you are considering
saving the whole file to your computer to listen in private. In
that case, you could try the following steps.
How to save and open the *.rm files posted on SongThat website:
============================================
1) First, find out the real file that the *ram file point to:
For example, on Nov 9th, there's a program named:
"Truyen Ngan Chon Loc"
If you move the cursor to that link and do a right click on it to
"Save target as...", you'll see that the name is 06.ram.
This 06.ram file is only a link to the real filename. You will then
save the 06.ram to your hard drive. Then you will need to read its
content.
2) To read the file 06.ram saved on your hard drive, do a combo
"shift + right click" on the file 06.ram, then select
"Open with...". A pop up window gives you a choice of
program to select. Choose Notepad to read file 06.ram. You will
see its content is
http://www.songthat.com/audio/110903/06.rm
[The *rm file is the real audio file you can
save and listen to later on. It's pretty big, about 10MB.]
3) Do either of the below step to save & listen:
Copy and paste the above URL (e.g.
http://www.songthat.com/audio/110903/06.rm) and send it back to yourself.
Once you receive the email, right click on the URL and do a "Save
target as..." to save the audio file,
OR
Copy and paste the URL to the Address bar of the web
browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape) and press Enter. The browser
will try to download the whole audio file (could be awhile depending on the
speed of your dialup or cable modem) before invoking RealOne Player to play
it for you.
That's all there is to it!
The above steps may seem complicated, but if you do it a few times it would
seem very natural to you.
